The emotions and thoughts seem so complex and varied that this album seems to take you to Australia and back, and along the way you take the ‘scenic route.’ From relaxing and surreal to confused and emotional, his lyrics and vocal enthusiasm take you on a flight full of suspense and the unexpected.

Do you ever get that feeling, the one that makes you want someone to take you in their arms and gently sway with you to the soft emotions of music? The warmth and sincerity of his lyrics and the passion that he puts into the vocals relay such emotion that you can’t help but be mystified.

Howie’s acoustic style is evident in most of the songs; nonetheless this album has impressive variety. Demonstrating soft, soothing sounds of songs like Kristina and Ghost, switching to upbeat sounds of songs like Everything Else and Sorry So Sorry, and then, as said best by Marcus Reath, “Howie picks up the electric guitar and shows versatility in Slow Down.”

My favorites are She Says (although slightly depressing, the guitar sounds make this song irresistible) and Morning After. I’m a bigger fan of his softer more emotional songs; they seem to get me in my soft spot. Howie Day- Australia has made it to my favorite list that’s for sure.
