Slide Down, Parker House and Theory's debut album, is a unique sounding album which unites different sounds

Parker House and Theory fuses the energy of a live show with the somberness of the studio on their debut album Slide Down. This "college band" has a dedicated following heavily concentrated in the Boston area. Comprised of five guys, Parker House and Theory's drive, spirit, and unique sounds are helping them to create a name for themselves among the jam band scene.

The eleven tracks composing Slide Down combine jazz, funk, and rock to create a unique album. The variety of melodies and rhythms explored on the album are innovative and brave. The smooth vocals are reminiscent of classic jazz singers. Full of soul and emotion, singer Eric-jon adds a new dimension to the band. Songs like "Another Guy" and "One Fourteen" explore the intensity and power of his vocals, where "Father" and "Rainbow Song" showcase the smoothness and richness of his voice. Throughout Slide Down, the vocals on each track are distinct from the last. His influences from Billie Holiday and Jeff Buckley permeate through his singing, as well a similarity to more recent artists like John Popper.

Although PH&T is primarily acoustic, their sound is extensive and strong. Andy Wesby (harmonica and keys), Marcos Valles (drums), Colin Lewis (bassist), Carlos Foglia (lead guitar), and Eric-jon (vocals and rhythm guitar) have a wide range of musical influences, including Stevie Wonder, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police, The Beatles, Sting, and Led Zeppelin. This variety is evident in the range of styles and complexity of their sound. The variety of sounds in their music has been described as "frantic," which is seen not only between tracks, but also within individual songs. Many of the tracks on Slide Down completely change rhythms half-way through. "I think I have ADHD so I get very bored with the same style of music for more than like an hour, I think this is a reason as to why we've been described as 'frantic'," says Eric-jon. This randomness builds a level of excitement to their songs, as well as creating the ambiance of a being at a live show.

Parker House and Theory have been touring throughout the Northeast, including New York City, Philadelphia, Maine, New Hampshire, and Boston. Their infectious sounds have been heard at The House of Blues, Grape Street Pub, The Hard Rock Café, The Alphabet Lounge, The Middle East, various colleges throughout New England, as well as a favorite of theirs, Bill's Bar. Playing shows generally every week, they have built a heavy grassroots following for themselves through their dedication and motivation.

Parker House and Theory is a classic jam band infused with blues and jazz. Their genuine personalities are reflective of the straightforwardness of the storytelling in their lyrics. Their sound is organic, but polished; eclectic, yet smooth. In three words Eric-jon would describe themselves as "intelligently spastic self-explorations." While the simplicity of their lyrics is refreshing, with time their lyrical maturation and development will help lead this Boston band to a positive future. "Our primary goal is to play music and to play for a lot of people. We want to be remembered as a fun band with lots of energy and intelligent accessible music."
